Alright, whatever, this post’s title was written just to get your attention. But Happy Chinese New Year’s, and it’s time to welcome in the year of the dog.

As some of you already know, January 24th, 2006 was the date of Canada’s federal election, in which the Conservatives usurped the Liberals and the governing party in Canada. Not since the Mulroney days have the Conservatives come to power, and a minority one at that. (In Canada, a government is defined as a majority govt. if it wins more than 50% of the seats across the country. If it has less, then it’s a minority.)
What does this mean for Canada? When I’m not quite sure, but while the conservatives support the traditional family, but they also have to work with the other governments to achieve some sort of truce in having any legislation pass.

If you didn’t know already, I’m a huge fan of their music, and have been since their debut album. But regrettably I’ve never watched them live. I hope they play Shanghai sometime because they’ll be a market for their infectious grooves.
